Terms and Conditions

Your bidding online acknowledges your agreement to these policies. Bidders are strongly encouraged to come onto the St. Paul lot located at 2576 Doswell Avenue to view and inspect vehicles during preview hours prior to placing bids.

  1. Once a bidder selects a vehicle at the "Buy It Now" price, their bids are NOT retractable and must be picked up the next business day or they will owe non pickup fees as well be liable for any legal action due to failure to complete their contract.

  2. All vehicles are being sold "As Is, Where Is" with no warranty, expressed, written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for the identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself/herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statement about the vehicle.

  3. Vehicle(s) 10 year old and newer, that are sold for OVER $2500.00 have a limited warranty specific to the transmission and internal engine function only. Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Warranty is valid for 24 hours from the time of payment. Vehicles MUST be returned to Charity Car Auctions within 24 hours. Charity Car Auctions, at their sole option, will repair any problem that falls under the warranty or refund the vehicle(s) purchase price.

  4. The phrases "drives in lot" or "lot drives" means the vehicle moves, we do not guarantee all gears in transmissions work.

  5. All sales are final. The vehicle becomes the sole responsibility of the winning bidder at the ending of the auction.

  6. When you become the winning bidder at the close of the auction, you have entered in a legally binding contract and are expected to pay for your vehicle.

  7. Auctions end Wednesday evening. Payment is due by 8PM on Thursday. An additional $25 storage fee will be applied for all vehicles picked up from 10-4 on Friday.

  8. Your vehicle(s) should be removed from the premises by 8PM on THURSDAY the week of the auction ending.

  9. All bidders must by 18 years or older to participate in the online auction.

Payment policies

All buyer payments must be made with good funds. This is defined as cash, cashiers checks, travelers checks or money orders. We no longer accept personal or business checks of any kind. We do accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and debit cards. A 3% cash advance charge will be added for using any of these cards or Debit cards. Cars must be paid for and picked up by 8:00 pm the following Thursday. A deposit of 25% or $200, whichever is greater, will hold your vehicle(s) until the following Monday, 3p.m. There will be storage fees added, as well. If you don't pay for your vehicle(s) by this time, you will forfeit your deposit and any rights you may have to the vehicle(s). Bidders that have credit card on file will be charged a walk away fee of $200 or 10% per car, whatever is greater, for not picking up cars by Monday. Valid drivers license required. AND WE WILL BE ENFORCING VALID ID REQUIREMENTS. YOU NEED A VALID PHOTO STATE ID OR A PASSPORT TO TRANSFER THE TITLE

  1. Buyers Fee Schedule $100.00 or 10% Whichever Is Greater, PER ITEM PURCHASED INCLUDING BOATS, AND 10% for Misc items

  2. Documentation fee/Prep fee $100.75

  3. Title/Registration transfer fee $40.00/per each vehicle/boat being transferred

  4. Plates $10.00

  5. Tabs. This fee depends on the vehicle(s) year of manufacture $3.00-$189.00

  6. State sales tax is one of the following:

    • Vehicle(s) manufactured in 2005 or before is $10.00

    • Vehicle(s) manufactured in 2006 or after is 6.5%

    • Vehicle(s) whose price is or more than $3000, trailers, or RV's or Truck plates is 6.5%.

    • State sales tax for boats is 6.875%.

  7. For most vehicle sales under $1000, the typical fees would be between $270-$320, depending on registration status.

  8. Miscellaneous items sold with no titles, the fees are 10% buyers fee, current sales tax (7.625%)and a $25 gate pass fee.

  9. Wheelage tax $5.00 for vehicles kept in Anoka county.

  10. Wheelage tax $10.00 for vehicles kept in Washington and Dakota counties.

  11. State transit tax is $20.00 per vehicle.

  12. $25.00 charge to jump any vehicle after delivered through auction.
